Kyle Athayde Dance Party
Free 18-Person Big Band Concert

The Kyle Athayde Dance Party is a powerhouse big band dedicated to creating and performing fun, exciting, and original music. Led by composer and multi-instrumentalist Kyle Athayde, the band draws inspiration from a wide array of sources—video games, internet memes, jazz and classical masterworks, nature, Japanese anime, and an eclectic mix of Swing, Latin, Hip-Hop, and Rock grooves. Whether performing original compositions or Kyle’s inventive arrangements of popular songs, the Dance Party delivers high-energy performances that captivate audiences. Beyond the stage, the band is deeply committed to education, conducting outreach clinics, performances, and festivals across the country to inspire the next generation of musicians. They are celebrating their 2025 release of the Yellow Album, primarily featuring Kyle’s compositions and arrangements of Afro-Cuban Music.

The Concert
CPC's gifted accompanist, Kyle Athayde, is the leader, conductor, and principal writer for the San Francisco/New York based big band, "Kyle Athayde Dance Party."
This bi-coastal, 18-person band will play in the CPC Sanctuary Sunday, March 19 - mark your calendars and tell your friends! The band features Bay Area natives and musicians from across the country, including Boston and Los Angeles.

The Band
KADP performed regularly at Zinc Bar and Dizzy's Jazz Club at Lincoln Center, NYC. Additionally, they recently performed at the Freight and Salvage, Berkeley.
Throughout his career, Kyle has been awarded several Downbeat awards and participated in the Grammy Band and Next Generation Band. He is also the Director of curriculum for the Lafayette Summer Music Workshop. More info here.
